Sam’s Story
Sam Bergsohn is a longtime Goshen resident and an attorney dedicated to standing up for his neighbors. Sam advocates for our community in the courtroom, as a nonprofit leader and as an engaged Goshen parent. In his roles on Goshen’s Zoning Board of Appeals and Environmental Review Board, Sam has been dedicated to ensuring Goshen’s growth reflects the needs of local residents rather than serving entrenched interests.
Sam’s life was profoundly shaped by the loss of his father, Alvin, in the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11. The support his family received from their community during that time instilled in him a lasting commitment to service that continues to guide his work to this day. As Town Supervisor, Sam will work tirelessly to lift up our community in that same way.
Since 2021, Sam has been a senior attorney for Legal Services of the Hudson Valley, successfully defeating the same powerful interests he’d stand up to as Goshen Supervisor. A devoted husband to his wife Ashleigh and father to three young children, a leader for local civic groups, and a musician. Sam is committed to thoughtful leadership, responsible planning, and ensuring every Goshen resident feels seen, heard, and valued. His only job will be fighting for you.
